Hello dolls!

One of the things that kills the quality and realistic feel of most beginners graphics is the "Feather egdes" setting. Do not click this! Your body doesn't fade out at the sides!
If you accidentally put it in your reference layer instead of your skin layer press CTRL + Z to go back. CTRL + Y is forward.
Today the posterize tool is your best friend (Colour>Posterize). Posterize a copy of your reference layer (so you can refer back to both). Now you can see where all the shading and highlights go. Don't follow the layers exactly as they are! They can be pretty lumpy so make them neater.

Hello dolls! First of all, before I even tell you what I'm doing, I'm just going to say that you should never ever ever lo...
Graphic tips: Fur

Hey dolls!
I just figured out how to make decent fur for graphics. It's my first time doing fur so I know it's not perfect or amazing but it looks good! It takes some time and effort but in the end it's worth it and it's pretty simple.
Step 1:
First draw the outline of the fur. You can do it really quick and messy and it still works! Blur the base layer so it looks more like fur (Thank you to Beth for this tip)

What I decided to do next was fill in the darkest parts. This helped with the fur pattern later on. I did two layers for this before moving on.

As always posterizing the reference picture helps a lot when drawing anything for a graphic.

Doing it section by section makes it a lot easier. This is how I did each layer. I used black and white not different shades of blue. It's all about building up the layers to make it look more like fur. I repeated the same pattern for every section.

Here is the final result with over 50 layers:

I hope this helps! If you have any questions I'd be happy to answer them below :)
Love,
Sarah
